- I notice at the bottom there's a file type (HTML, YAML, TXT, etc.) selector, and that appears to be automatic only during the save as process. Several of my new documents are not being recognized as plain text files so they don't get that extension. I'm not a programmer and I only use BBEdit for it's plain text capabilities.
